School Bus Accident Leaves 20 Injured

According to KSHB, a school bus crashed while traveling along state Highway 99 just north of Thomasville, Missouri.

At around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, a school bus carrying basketball players from Koshkonong School District ran off the road and flipped. According to the report, one student had significant injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics. Eighteen other students were treated at a hospital for minor injuries. Two adults were also injured, according to investigators. The bus driver was unharmed.

Police are investigating the accident but said the school bus veered off the road before hitting some trees and flipping. They do believe that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

Filing Lawsuits For Victims Injured in School Bus Accidents

Attorney contributor Ryan Frazier is an experienced bus accident lawyer who represented victims injured in bus and auto accidents. Ryan recently shared some of his knowledge on the legal rights of injured victims of school bus accidents and the financial compensation they might recover filing a lawsuit.

"After a serious accident with injuries, the victims involved and their families may struggle with several emotional, physical, and financial difficulties. It is common to wonder about your family's options for financial compensation following an auto accident."

"For crashes involving school buses, a lawsuit can hold the driver's employer accountable if the crash is due to the driver's fault or if the employer is found to be negligent. For instance, if the driver had a history of a DUI or reckless driving, but the company ignored the dangers or failed to run a background check that would have shown such history. Victims involved in a school bus accident may find it necessary to seek the aid of an experienced bus accident lawyer to explore their legal rights better."
