Illinois Man Charged with Child Pornography Offenses While Living at Home Daycare

Jose Real, a 52-year-old resident of the 1200 block of Chesterfield Lane in Grayslake, Illinois has been charged after authorities uncovered a disturbing cache of over 1,000 videos and images depicting child pornography. The arrest took place on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, following a search warrant executed on July 19 at his residence, which also operates as an at-home daycare, according to WGN 9.

During the search, police discovered Real’s cell phone hidden in a potted plant. Upon examination, detectives found a significant number of explicit materials, including videos and images of infants. Authorities allege that Real was involved in downloading and sharing these illicit contents.

Local law enforcement is continuing to investigate the case to determine whether any of the recovered materials are connected to the children who were under supervision at the daycare. The implications of this case are prompting serious concerns within the community.
