Justice For Families Affected by Sexual Abuse in Schools

With backgrounds as sex crimes prosecutors, the attorneys at AbuseGuardian.com now represent survivors of sexual abuse in civil lawsuits. Here is some general information on how school sex abuse victims and their families can find justice:

Every school has a duty to prioritize the safety of their students above all else. In any field that involves working with children, it’s crucial to make sure that only trustworthy people are hired. Sadly, these fields are often targeted by sexual predators who seek to exploit their positions of trust in order to commit terrible crimes.

Sexual abuse in schools has become a nationwide problem, with cases of school staff abusing students in all 50 states. When a student comes forward to disclose abuse, the allegations must be taken seriously and investigated. Along with prosecuting the abuser, it’s also important to look at the school and determine if they failed to do all that they could to protect their students. In some cases, the abuse may have been prevented if not for school district negligence.

For example, a school district might be considered negligent if they hired an employee without running a background check or ignored previous complaints of inappropriate behavior by a staff member.

If your child is a victim of sexual abuse by a school staff member, your family has legal options for finding justice. You can learn more by discussing your case with an experienced sex abuse victims attorney.
