Accident Occurred Near Intersection With Beeman Hollow Road

Last Update: 7/13/2020

The incident took place on the morning of Monday, October 14th near the town of Erwin, NY. A logging tractor-trailer owned by Two Rivers Timbers (Addison, NY) and which was not carrying any logs reportedly collided with a passenger car.

This initial collision left the logging truck on its side. Following closely behind was a female pickup driver who was forced to swerve aggressively to avoid the wreck, which led to her crashing into an embankment.

The drivers of the first two vehicles are believed to be injury-free, but the driver of the pickup truck was less fortunate. She had to be airlifted to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Pennsylvania which suggests serious trauma, but the extent of her injuries remains unspecified by officials.

New York State Police have indicated that tickets will be issued but made no mention of charges at this time.

Legal Avenues for Victims of Truck Accidents

An attorney contributor at the Legal Herald, Laurence Banville offered the following feedback on the legal rights possessed by tractor trailer accident lawyer and their families:

“A truck accident is the kind of unexpected event that can change a family forever. This is mainly due to the serious injuries or even death that can result. Not only do these tragedies have significant emotional and physical impact on the victims and their loved ones – they can also be a financial nightmare.

We know that nothing can change the past, but modern medicine allows for advanced procedures, treatments, and other therapies that can help those who have been hurt to recover. We also know that the highest level of medical care also comes with a high cost. As an example: treatment for traumatic brain injuries over a lifetime can surpass the three million dollar mark.

Insurance policies will rarely cover the large medical expenses resulting from a truck accident. In fact, adjusters employed by insurance companies will do everything they can to reduce the amount that a policy pays out; this is essentially what their job consist of. For this reason, a truck accident lawsuit can often be the only way for a victim to pursue a full compensation.

If you or a loved one have suffered injuries in a truck accident, you could receive a compensation that would cover physical and emotional pain, medical bills (past & future), lost wages, and in some cases funeral and burial costs. Contact an experienced truck accident attorney to learn about the specific legal options available to you right now.”
