Hand & Stone Sexual Assault Lawsuits

Several women have already taken this brave step, describing their traumatic experiences in civil court documents and police reports.

A number of sexual assault survivors have already filed lawsuits against Hand and Stone. In Florida, a survivor is pursuing legal action against Hand and Stone in connection to the case of Cesar Guerrero, who was convicted of sexual battery while working at a Massage Envy near Clermont.

Prior to his time at Massage Envy, Guerrero worked at Hand and Stone where the woman’s lawsuit claims, he sexually assaulted at least one client.

Does Hand & Stone Have A National Problem?

A pattern appears to emerge, however, when you take a broader view. In Canada, two former Hand and Stone massage therapists have been charged for sexually assaulting clients.

Similar charges have been filed against Larry Donnell Doye, a 33-year-old therapist working at a Hand and Stone in Maryland. And in 2017, two former Hand and Stone massage therapists were convicted of indecent assault. In their lawsuits, women point to these prior instances to suggest that Hand and Stone have turned a blind eye to dangerous sexual predators.

Massage Spa Liability

All American businesses are bound to protect the safety of clients and customers. Massage businesses, where customers are at their most vulnerable, are no exception. In fact, one could argue convincingly that massage spas have a stronger duty to protect their customers than many other service providers. Businesses that violate this duty can be held accountable in court.
