Legal Options For Families of Fatal Bar Stabbing Victims

Attorney contributor Guy D'Andrea represents victims of preventable violent crime and the families of victims killed in these tragedies. Brian has offered to share some of his knowledge on the legal rights of bar stabbing victims and their families:

Security is a critical responsibility for all property owners, including the owners of bars, nightclubs, and other alcohol-vending establishments. Unfortunately, these businesses often have problems with violent crime. Bar owners must do everything they can to prevent foreseeable violent crime from endangering their patrons and employees.

When a stabbing happens at a bar and customers are injured or killed, the victims and their families have legal rights. Along with arresting a suspect, it's important to investigate the circumstances behind the crime, including whether it was preventable. Some bar stabbings only happen due to negligence, like inadequate security.
