Can I Sue For Being Shot?

Attorney contributor Brian Kent is an experienced crime victim attorney who represents nightclub shooting victims in civil lawsuits. Brian has recently shared some information regarding the legal options available to shooting victims and their families.

"Sufficient security is a significant responsibility for all nightclub owners, given these businesses have a higher risk of violence. It's critical to maintain preventative measures that reduce the risk as much as possible. However, often shootings happen at nightclubs due to inadequate security and other forms of negligence."

"When victims are injured, or worse, killed at a nightclub due to a shooting, an investigation must occur. If the nightclub is found to have been negligent, they could be deemed liable in a court of law. Many times, the victims and their families may have grounds for a lawsuit and might even be entitled to financial compensation. It is best to learn more about your legal options by seeking counsel from an experienced crime victim attorney."
