Victim Identified As 44-Year-Old George M.E. Beck Of St.Louis, Missouri

The deadly crash took place in the early hours of Tuesday, October 15th, around 1:30AM. George Beck was headed northbound on his Harley Davidson Heritage Softail when he collided with a tractor-trailer that was making a left turn onto IL-111 north.

Although he was wearing a helmet, Beck would succumb to his injuries at the scene. The Madison Country Coroner, Diondra Horner, was able to specify that the motorcycle driver’s cause of death was multi-system trauma resulting from the accident.

The name of the driver operating the tractor-trailer has not been released. It has also not been specified if either of the drivers involved in this tragic accident committed any traffic infractions that resulted in the crash.

Illinois State Police is currently carrying out an investigation through which they should be able to reconstruct the incident. Toxicology tests were also administered to the driver of the truck and posthumously to the deceased.

Legal Resources For Truck Accident Victims

A contributor to Legal Herald and experienced attorney Brian Kent offered to share the following insight for motorcycle accident victims and families of victims killed in truck accidents:

“When an individual is injured or killed in an accident involving a truck or tractor-trailer, the lives of family members can be permanently affected. Indeed, emotional trauma after the loss of a loved one is not the only pain that is experienced.

Financial struggles make up some of the biggest stressors that the families of victims are subject to. These can include medical bills, funeral or burial costs, and loss of income.

Yet there exist legal options for those affected by the death of a loved one in a trucking accident. One of the most viable of these options is a truck accident lawsuit.

Through a truck accident lawsuit, the families of victims can seek a compensation from those whose negligence resulted in the injury or death of a loved one. This compensation can then be used to cover any existing medical fees, the cost of funeral proceedings, and in some cases, the loss of wages that the deceased would have brought into the household.

Nevertheless, all legal cases are different, and the compensation for each is based strictly on the circumstances surrounding the specific incident. For this reason, victims or their families should seek the help of an experienced truck accident attorney who can analyze the facts of the case, determine the damages suffered and which can be recouped, and then fight aggressively for justice and the rights of all persons affected.”
