Masseuse Accused of Sexually Assaulting Two Women

According to 44 News, two women have come forward with allegations of sexual assault that took place in Mulan Massage located at 7951 Bell Oaks Dr, Newburgh, IN 47630.

On May 15, 2021, a woman went into Mulan Massage to redeem a massage her husband had booked for her birthday. During the massage, the masseuse, later identified as Yunkui Qui, put a towel over her eyes and she laid with her body completely uncovered. He then began to touch her breasts inappropriately. The victim said that the incident traumatized her, leaving her unable to speak or move. She filed a complaint with the Warrick County Sheriff's Office the next day. The victim said she was able to quickly connect with other women that had similar experiences at the salon. She was also able to pull up previous allegations, including a Class B misdemeanor for battery.

After 44 News reported on the first victim's experience, "at least a dozen others" reached out to them with their own experiences. However, one agreed to be interviewed. The second victim had her massage appointment just five days prior to the other victim. She described the events that took place as the same that happened to the first victim. When asked why she did not file a complaint, she responded that she "didn't really know what constitutes that line of sexual assault or not."

When News 44 interviewed Sheriff Mike Wilder from the Warrick County Sheriff's Office, they asked why an investigation into the massage parlor had not begun. Wilder responded that more victims needed to come forward to file an official report.

Can I Sue For Being Sexually Assaulted by a Massage Therapist?

Attorney contributor Jeff Gibson is an experienced lawyer for victims of sexual assaults during massages. Jeff has helped numerous victims seek justice for these heinous acts by filing civil lawsuits. He recently shared some information on the legal options of victims sexually assaulted by massage therapists.

"Massage therapy is an industry where its patrons are often vulnerable to sexual assault. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of reports of massage therapists sexually assaulting their clients across the country. Sexual assault can vary in degree but ultimately is any unwanted sexual touching. Victims sexually abused by a masseuse deserve justice, and they have legal options to do so in both criminal and civil courts."

"Reporting a sexual assault to law officials can lead to a criminal investigation. However, victims also have grounds to file a lawsuit against the perpetrator or the massage parlor where the sexual assault took place. The massage parlor has a legal obligation to provide a level of safety precautions in order to prevent sexual assault from taking place. These measures could include conducting background checks, following up with previous reports of misconduct, and having security cameras in certain areas of the establishment. If the massage parlor has failed to uphold its safety measures and a patron is assaulted, they can be held responsible based on neglect. Victims sexually assaulted by a massage therapist should explore their legal options for compensation with an experienced sexual assault victim lawyers."
