Two Killed in Deadly Truck Accident on I-95

NBC Philadelphia has reported that a BMW was struck by a large box truck heading southbound on Interstate 95 in New Castle County, Delaware.

At approximately 10:22 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, rescue authorities responded to a crash along a section of the highway with very little lighting. The report claims the 2020 BMW M2 stopped for an unknown reason before being struck by a box truck. The truck caught fire after pushing the car down the highway and off towards the shoulder. Both the driver of the car and his passenger were trapped inside the car and died on the scene. The driver of the truck did not sustain injuries according to the report.

Justice For Truck Accident Victims

Attorney contributor Aaron Blank is an experienced truck accident attorney. Aaron represents accident victims and the families of those fatally killed in traffic collisions. He recently sat down to discuss the legal options available for victims injured or killed in truck accidents.

"Accidents caused by box trucks, or other large trucks, can result in severe injuries or death to other drivers. Truck drivers are expected to follow best driving practices to reduce the risk of such accidents. However, distracted driving is one of the leading causes of accidents. Negligent drivers have a tendency to speed, fail to yield to other drivers, and often disobey traffic signals. Truck drivers can be held responsible for injuries and deaths caused by accidents due to negligent driving."

"Victims or their families can explore their legal options by talking with an experienced truck accident lawyer. There may be many parties responsible for damages sustained during a truck accident in addition to the negligent truck driver, such as a trucking company or the truck manufacturer. Legal guidance can help identify who can be held liable for the accident and if a civil lawsuit should be filed for compensation. "
