Truck Accident Attorney Discusses Filing Truck Accident Lawsuits

Injured truck accident victims often have questions about what they can do in a civil case against liable parties. In this interview, we talk to Anjali Nigam, Esq., a truck accident attorney, about the process of filing a civil case and the damages that injured truck accident victims can recover.

Darla Medina: Anjali, thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. In light of the recent accident in East Texas, can you share some information about what injured truck accident victims can do in a civil case against liable parties?

Anjali Nigam: Sure. The first step is to gather evidence of the accident. This includes things like police reports, medical records, and witness statements. Once you have gathered the evidence, you need to file a lawsuit against the liable parties. The liable parties can be the truck driver, the trucking company, or any other party that contributed to the accident.

Darla Medina: What are some of the damages that injured truck accident victims can recover in a civil case?

Anjali Nigam: The damages that injured truck accident victims can recover can vary depending on the circumstances of the case. However, some common damages include medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.

Darla Medina: What are some of the challenges that injured truck accident victims face in pursuing a civil case?

Anjali Nigam: There are a few challenges that injured truck accident victims face in pursuing a civil case. One challenge is that the trucking companies often have a lot of resources to fight the case. Another challenge is that the laws governing truck accidents can be complex.

Darla Medina: What advice would you give to someone who has been injured in a truck accident?

Anjali Nigam: The best advice I can give is to speak with an experienced truck accident attorney as soon as possible. An attorney can help you gather evidence, file a lawsuit, and fight for the compensation you deserve.

Darla Medina: Thank you for your time, Anjali. This has been very helpful.
