In every state victims injured in drunk driving accidents and family members of victims who have died in drunk driving accidents may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit against the driver. However, ins some states there may be additional legal options for these victims.

In California, there are dram shop laws that allow victims of drunk driving accidents to file lawsuits against the alcohol vendor that served the driver alcohol prior to the crash under certain circumstances.
