Deceased Driver Was A 49-Year-Old Man From San Bautista, CA

The tragic accident took place Tuesday, October 15th shortly after 7:30AM on Highway 25 close to Bolsa Rd.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that the semi-truck was turning northbound onto Hwy 25 when it was struck on its side by the cement truck. The crash caused the semi to overturn, reportedly spilling a significant amount of oil onto the roadway. The section of road remained closed for 4 hours while the spill was cleaned and an investigation completed.

The driver of the cement mixer died at scene while the driver of the semi, a 48-year-old San Jose man, was uninjured. It is believed that “medium to heavy” fog conditions could have played a part, given that no excess of speed or drugs/alcohol were found to have been a factor.

An experienced truck accident attorney Bobby Thompson offered to share the following insight for those who may have suffered injuries or whose loved one may have died in an accident involving a truck:

“The lives of entire families can be permanently changes due to the injuries or death that can result from a semi-truck accident. unfortunately, physical and emotional pain are not the only pressures to be considered. Financial stress after an unexpected tragedy is one of the biggest issues that victims and their families face.

Many people believe that it is just common sense for an insurance policy to cover all of the damages that result from an accident. Yet this is rarely the case, and given expensive medical care can be in the United States, this can quickly become a great concern. If long-term medical attention will be needed, then the lifetime cost of the injuries from a truck accident can easily surpass the million dollar mark.

As you can imagine, an insurance company doesn’t stay in business by easily paying out policies. These companies hire adjusters whose sole job is to reduce payout amounts, no matter the circumstances of a victim’s injuries. So, what options exist for those who suffer severe injuries in a crash with a truck?

The law allows individuals to pursue compensation via a truck accident lawsuit. This legal proceeding can help victims to receive a compensation based on physical and emotional trauma, lost wages, funeral or burial costs, and medical expenses. Those looking to explore their legal options after an accident should speak with an experienced attorney who will fight aggressively for their rights and for justice.”
