Tanker Truck Was Attempting U-Turn On NW 43rd When It Was Struck

The deadly incident involving a fuel-carrying tanker truck and a passenger vehicle occurred in the early morning hours, around 2AM, on Sunday, October 27th.

A passenger vehicle was headed north on NW 43rd St when it struck a tanker truck that was making a U-turn at the intersection with NW 16th Blvd. The crash then caused the truck's fuel to ignite, resulting in a massive and uncontrolled fire.

Though the victim remains unnamed by authorities, it is believed to be the driver of the passenger sedan who was killed. It is not clear at this time if the driver of the truck suffered any injuries.

At the time of the crash, the truck was loaded with 6,000 lbs of fuel. Power in the area was also lost, mostly affecting the surrounded shops.

Michael Haggard, an experienced truck accident attorney, has spent years fighting for the rights of victims injured in truck crashes. He shared the following insight for individuals who may find themselves in a similar situation:

"When a family member or loved one is severely injured or even killed in a truck accident, it's more than normal for those left behind to want to pursue justice. And though it may seem like a harsh path to take, legal options must be considered as they can be one of the only ways for victims and their families to be made whole again, at least in part.

For instance, by filing a truck accident lawsuit, the victims can feel that justice has been made, especially in cases when negligence is what led to a tragic incident. Moreover, a lawsuit can also help victims achieve compensation that covers monetary and non-monetary damages such as:

  • Medical costs
  • Physicial injuries
  • Emotional trauma
  • Lost wages
  • Loss of companionship

If the victim was fatally injured in a truck accident, the family members and in some cases other non-related dependents are able to file the lawsuit on their loved one's behalf.

Many folks assume that insurance companies will cover all damages, but this is rarely the case. More often, victims and their loved ones are left to bear the financial burden all on their own.

For this reason, those who have suffered injuries in a truck accident should consider discussing their case with an experienced truck accident attorney who will be able to analyze their case and lay out all of their legal options."
