Financial Compensation for Semi-truck Accident Victims

Attorney contributor Marc Lenahan is an experienced semi-truck accident lawyer who represents accident victims and their families. Marc recently shared his insight regarding the legal option of filing a lawsuit for injuries or death caused by semi-truck accidents.

"Crashes involving a semi-truck and another vehicle can be devastating, often leading to the death of the other passengers. Semi-trucks weigh a lot, sometimes as much as 80,000 pounds when full. These drivers should be more attentive to reduce the risks of accidents. They should remain alert while paying attention to the road and other drivers. Distractions while driving are one of the most common factors leading to severe accidents. A negligent semi-truck driver can be held responsible for the damages and injuries resulting from an accident. Some negligent acts may include speeding, failing to yield to traffic properly, and failing to obey traffic signals."

"Semi-truck accident victims and their families should explore their legal options with an experienced semi-truck accident lawyer. Determining who is liable for the auto accident and who may be sued can be complicated. It may be a negligent truck driver, the trucking company, a truck manufacturer, or another entity guilty of negligence. An accident lawyer can review the facts and help victims and their families choose their best course of legal action."
