Attorney contributor, Anjali Nigam, has had years of experience dealing with violent crimes through the representation of victims and their families in civil suits. Below, Anjali shares his insight on the rights of victims shot violently inside of a club:
"The protection and safety of patrons in and around the property is a legal obligation for club owners. Safety measures that can be taken include security cameras, guards and experienced staff members. Owners can be deemed liable in a civil lawsuit if adequate security for customers is not provided within the property they are in charge of."
"In some cases, violent crimes result from negligence on the part of the property owner. If the crime is deemed as reasonably foreseeable, a club owner may be considered negligent. An example of negligence would be if crime rates were consistently on the rise in a particular area, and the club management did not make any enhancements in safety measures. Through an experienced violent crimes attorney, victims and their families can explore all the legal options in front of them. Victims and their families may receive compensation for any damages resulting from the crime if the lawyer can prove negligence on behalf of the owner."
