According to NBC DFW, a shooting occurred at Diamond Jim's Saloon located at 305 N Great SW Pkwy, Arlington, TX 76011.
A shooting in a bar parking lot early Sunday, January 9, 2022, left one person dead and another injured. The Arlington Police Department officers are still investigating the shooting.
As they were finishing with a different call, located farther down Great Southwest Parkway near Division Street, they heard the gunshots. Police were able to run over to the bar parking lot, and that is where they found a 33-year-old male with a gunshot wound. Despite officers performing life-saving measures on the victim, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported an altercation between the man and another group at the bar prior to the shooting. When the man got away, he went to his vehicle, returned with a handgun, and began shooting. This is when officers believe someone in the crowd returned fire, striking the man. Investigators are still working to identify that shooter.
During the shooting, another man in the parking lot sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital but has since been released.

"When a shooting happens, it is important that all details be investigated. This includes the shooter and the location. When a victim is hurt or killed during a shooting on a bar's property, it is necessary to determine if it could have been prevented. Many bar shootings occur due to security negligence. Bars should have security features such as surveillance cameras, sufficient lighting in the parking lot, as well as hired security guards."
"Bar owners have a legal responsibility to maintain the security of their establishment in order to reduce the risk of violence. In most bar shooting cases, the main factor is if the shooting was foreseeable. For instance, when the bar has a history of prior violence or the crime in the area was increasing it would fall on the bar owner to increase its security. However, if the owner failed to improve security, which can include hiring additional security guards and conducting weapons checks, they could be deemed negligent and even liable in a court of law. Bar shooting victims and their families should explore their legal options with an experienced shooting victim lawyer. In many cases of bar security negligence, they may be entitled to financial compensation."
