Sponsored Content Policy

Press releases on Legal Herald are sponsored content. They are written and submitted by the organizations named in them, and those organizations may pay to distribute them.

Every press release on the site:

• is labeled "Press Release";
• names the organization that issued it and links to that organization's newsroom;
• carries a notice that it is sponsored content that Legal Herald did not report or verify;
• marks client links as sponsored (rel="sponsored"), so they pass no search ranking credit;
• for law firm releases, names the responsible attorney and carries an attorney advertising notice.

Some releases first appeared through a distribution service. Those pages name the original source and point search engines to it as the canonical version.
