Semi-Truck Crushes Car In Accident On I-90, Four Injured

A 59-year-old Lyft driver and his 24-year-old passenger were rushed to the hospital after surviving an accident in which their car was crushed beneath a overturned semi-truck.

Police have reported that the accident, which took place on I-90 on September 17th, 2019, was caused when the 28-year-old driver of the semi-truck misjudged and hit the guardrail. He was allegedly speeding and this caused the trailer to overturn, landing directly on the passenger car in the next lane.

The driver of the Lyft said that he saw the semi hit the guardrail and begin to tip. All he could think of was to get as low as possible in his car and yelled for his passenger to do the same. This quick thinking resulted in their survival, although with serious injuries.

The driver and passenger in the semi were also injured.

Attorney Contributor Comments On Taking Legal Action After A Semi-Truck Crash

Mr. Laurence Banville of Banville Law is an attorney contributor at the Legal Herald. He has provided insight to the legal rights of truck accident victims.

"When a truck accident occurs it's easy to replace the vehicles involved but it's not easy for those who have sustained serious injuries to pay for their medical bills. Auto insurance can provide some relief, but make no mistake, when policy limits are met the insurance company will stop paying.

The lifetime cost of care for an injury like a brain injury or a spinal injury can reach millions of dollars and that's money the average American doesn't have. So how do truck accident victims pay for the care they both deserve and need?

A truck accident lawsuit is filed with the intent of recovering full compensation for all losses. These civil lawsuits are completely seperate from any criminal charges that may be filed. The legal complaint is filed against the person or group whose negligence resulted in the accident.

If you or a loved one have been seriously injured in a truck accident, contact an experienced attorney as quickly as possible."
