At CrimeVictim.Attorney, Brian Kent and his team of other crime victim lawyers represent victims of drunk driving crashes in civil lawsuits. Here is Brian with some general information regarding the legal option available to people who have been injured by drunk drivers in North Dakota:

If you get injured by a drunk driver North Dakota or any other state, you may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the person who injured you. But North Dakota is also one of many states with dram shop laws. Depending on the circumstances of the crash, dram shop laws allow people that have been injured in alcohol-related incidents to file lawsuits against businesses like bars, nightclubs, and others for serving alcohol to the person responsible for causing the injuries.

According to North Dakota dram shop laws, alcohol vendors can be held liable for injuries caused by a customer if the vendor provided alcohol to a customer who was either under 21 years of age or “obviously intoxicated”, and that customer went on to injure someone else because of their intoxication.

Each drunk driving injury case is unique and the legal options available will depend on the circumstances of the events leading up to the injury.
