Substitute Teacher Arrested for Inappropriate Conduct at IN School

A substitute teacher has been taken into custody following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior during a class at Washington Community Schools, according to WTHI-TV. Wayne Armstrong II was arrested on Monday, facing serious charges including sexual conduct in the presence of a minor and public indecency.

The inquiry began on Thursday, January 22, after a parent and student reported concerning behavior to school administrators at Washington Junior High, located at 210 NE 6th St, Washington, IN 47501. In response to these reports, Armstrong was promptly removed from his position and is no longer associated with the school district.

Following the initial reports, Washington Police detectives interviewed students who were present in the class where the accusations originated. The school took proactive steps by notifying parents about the situation and informing them that a detective would be on-site to address concerns.

Search Warrant Executed at Substitute Teacher's Home

After gathering statements from students, detectives obtained a search warrant for Armstrong's residence. Items collected during the search were forwarded to the Knox County Cyber Crimes Unit for further examination. A report was subsequently submitted to the Daviess County Prosecutor's Office, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
