Cedar Hills Hospital Night Shift Worker Charged with Sexual Abuse of Patient
A former night shift worker at Cedar Hills Hospital has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient at the mental health treatment center in unincorporated Washington County. 28-year-old Christopher Zeisler is charged with first-degree sexual abuse.
According to prosecutors, Zeisler sexually abused a woman in December 2018. He began working at the facility two months before that alleged assault and was fired before his arrest.
The patient was under Zeisler’s care when she was allegedly abused, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office went on to say that Zeisler was seen on surveillance video spending “an unusual amount of time” in the woman’s room at the time of the assault.
According to court records, another sex abuse case involving Zeisler was dismissed in Multnomah County 2013.
Detectives believe there could be additional victims. Anyone with information on possible other victims has been asked to call detectives at (503) 846-2500.

Justice For Victims of Sexual Abuse in Mental Health Facilities
Brian Kent and the team of former sex crimes prosecutors at AbuseGuardian.com have dedicated their careers to helping survivors of sexual abuse find answers, support, and justice. Here is Brian with some general information on the legal options available to mental health facility abuse victims and their families:
Healthcare is a sensitive field which requires a high degree of trust between employees and their patients. Management at healthcare facilities has a crucial legal duty to make sure all of their employees are trustworthy people. But unfortunately, this field is often targeted by sexual predators who abuse patients under their care.
When a healthcare worker sexually abuses a patient, both the criminal justice and civil court systems can provide justice. Reporting the abuse to law enforcement is always the first priority, but in many cases, victims of sexual abuse in healthcare facilities may have grounds for a lawsuit against the facility.
Lawsuits are filed in cases involving negligence, such as a facility hiring an employee who had a history of sexual misconduct.
If you or a loved one has been sexually abused in a healthcare facility, you can learn more about your legal options by discussing your case with an experienced sex abuse victims attorney.
