A rideshare driver has been taken into custody following a serious investigation into the assault of a passenger who was unable to defend herself, according to Fox 11. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office reported that the case unfolded in November 2025 when the Major Crimes Sexual Assault Unit received alarming reports from the city of Camarillo.
Simranjit Singh Sekhon, the suspect, reportedly picked up the victim in Thousand Oaks. Despite the ride being marked as complete, he allegedly continued to transport the victim around Camarillo, where the assault occurred. Sekhon was arrested on Tuesday, December 15, and now faces charges of raping an unconscious individual. His bail has been set at $500,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 17.
