Collision With Semi-Truck Causes Multi-Vehicle Accident

Police had to shut down sections of I-12 West in Springfield, Louisiana on Friday, September 13th, 2019 after a semi-truck caught fire following a horrific collision.

According to the responding officers and witnesses, the driver of a Kenworth tractor-trailer that was heading eastbound collided with a Toyota Highlander heading in the same direction. The force of the collision sent both vehicles careening out of control, across the median, and into the westbound lanes.

The Toyota overturned and the semi-truck struck a second semi-truck head-on. The second collision caused both tractor-trailers to burst into flames. The drivers in both truck cabs died from the injuries they sustained in the crash. The driver of the Toyota survived but sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.

Police are investigating what caused the driver of the first semi-truck to veer off course and have taken toxicology samples to determine if the driver was impaired.

Attorney Contributor Weighs In On The Rights Of Truck Accident Vitims After An Accident

Laurence Banville of Banville Law is an experienced truck accident attorney who has helped thousands of clients fight for the compensation that they are owed after a truck accident. He has offered his thoughts on why victims and their loved ones should consider filing a truck accident or wrongful death lawsuit.

"When you or a loved one have been hurt in a truck accident it's easy to assume that the auto insurance companies will take care of everything and that you won't have to worry about financial losses while you heal. As thousands discover every year, this assumption is incorrect.

Insurance companies go to great lengths to save money and not only do they train their adjusters to find ways to reduce the payouts made through claims, they also stop paying the minute that policy limits have been met. It doesn't matter where a victim is in their medical treatments or how expensive future treatments will be.

A truck accident or wrongful death lawsuit can provide full compensation for medical bills, lost wages, physical suffering, emotional trauma, and other losses. The road to justice may be a long one but with the right legal help victims and their family could make the future much brighter."
