Can The Families of Fatal Bar Shooting Victims File Lawsuits?

Attorney contributor Brian Kent represents bar shooting victims and their families and helps them get the financial compensation they deserve. Here are some thoughts from Brian on the legal rights of these victims and families:

When a bar shooting happens and people are injured or killed, the crime must be thoroughly investigated. Along with identifying and arresting a suspect, it’s important to investigate the bar’s security plan and to determine if the shooting could have been prevented.

Some bar shootings may not have happened if not for inadequate security or another type of negligence. Bar owners have a legal duty to keep their properties reasonably secure. In cases involving negligence, bar shooting victims and their families may have a case for a lawsuit.
