Legal Recourse for Restaurant Shooting Victims and Their Families

Brian Kent is an attorney contributor of crimevictim.Attorney who represents victims of preventable crimes in civil lawsuits against negligent parties.

“There are multiple legal options for victims and their families who have been injured or killed because of inadequate security. Restaurants all owe a legal duty of protection to those on their premises in order to prevent any reasonably foreseeable harm”, stated Mr. Kent.

Mr. Kent continued: “A restaurant owner must provide adequate security depending on the prior history of violent crime in that area. If a shooting occurs on the premises of a restaurant due to inadequate security measures, the property owner may be held liable. Additionally, if that shooting was deemed reasonably foreseeable, then victims may have grounds for a lawsuit against the property owner. Restaurant shootings can be complicated, if you have questions about your legal options it is best to speak with an experienced crime victim lawyer.”
