Victim Was On Private Construction Site At 39 Hinds Ln When Concrete Wall Collapsed
Pelham fire officials first received a call on Monday, September 23rd around 2:30PM reporting a man pinned under a wall that had collapsed on a construction site.
Upon arrival of the emergency units on the scene, they were able to free the victim from under the debris with the help of police department units who were nearby and swiftly responded to the call.
Once stabilized, the victim was transported to nearby Pelham Elementary School where a Boston Medflight helicopter had landed to retrieve him. No other updates on the man’s health have been provided at this time, only that he was transported to a Boston area hospital.
The construction work was taking place at 39 Hinds Ln, where an addition to an existing home was underway. It is not clear yet what caused the wall to collapse, or how the man came to become trapped under it after it fell, but an investigation is underway.

Attorney contributor Laurence Banville, an experienced construction accident lawyer from BanvilleLaw.com, offered some important insight for anyone who may have suffered injuries on the job at a construction site.
“OSHA (the Occupational Safety & Health Administration) has previously estimated that, at any one time, there are over 8 million work sites in the United States. With how dangerous these sites can be, it’s no surprise that so many workers are injured.
Unfortunately, when construction workers fall victim to workplace injuries, they are not the only ones who suffer. Most of these victims also have families who depend on them, not only for financial support, but also for emotional support.
When a worker suffers an injury and can no longer work, even if only temporarily, the pressure then falls on their loved ones who are already dealing with the shock after the accident occurred. Luckily, federal programs like worker’s compensation can help cover medical expenses resulting from the injury and in some instances, it can also cover a portion of lost wages. Additionally, if the injury was caused by a third-party’s negligence, a personal injury lawsuit could also be pursued.
Whatever the avenue, the intended result should be the same – the victim and their families can stop worrying about money, and concentrate on healing and recovery.”
