Victim Identified As 47-Year-Old Rocael Lopez-Lopez Of Crete
The deadly accident took place around 1:30PM on Friday, December 20th at the ongoing construction site near 11th and Q Streets in downtown Lincoln.
The victim was reported to have been assembling metal forms on the top floor of the Que Place Parking Garage when the form fell on top of him, fatally crushing him. It is believed that the worker was employed in the Lied Place Residences project that is currently underway directly adjacent to the Parking Garage.
Few additional details have been offered by authorities, though investigations are expected to be ongoing. It is not clear if progress on the site has been halted or if it is to continue as scheduled. The state’s division of OSHA is likely to investigate as well.
Hi. My name is Laurence Banville.

An experimented construction death attorney at BanvilleLaw.com, Laurence Banville shared the following information for those who may have been victims of workplace injuries and who are wondering about the legal options at their disposal:
“In many instances, construction projects are completed on time, on schedule and without any kind of issue; most importantly, none of the employees who helped bring it to completion suffer any kind of bodily injury. Unfortunately, project sites remain one of the most dangerous workplaces in the country and when accidents do occur, they tend to overshadow those instances in which they’re avoided.
This is mostly due to the fact that the repercussions of a construction accident are felt far and wide, and most notably by the victim themselves and their loved ones. Indeed, families who undergo these stressful situations are put under immense pressure in the days, months, and even years after an incident.
Fortunately, there exist varied pathways for victims and their families to find help. For instance, pursuing a construction accident lawsuit is one legal option that’s open to those who were affected by an incident that resulted from negligence. And while this option is only applicable in a minority of cases, it should always be considered as a possibility.
Additionally, a worker’s compensation claim can be filed by a survivor of a construction accident so as to receive a compensation that covers all medical costs and even a portion of wages lost by not being able to work. It’s important to note that a lawsuit and worker’s comp claim are two separate legal options that can be pursued at the same time so as to achieve the maximum compensation possible.
Victims of construction accidents and their loved ones should discuss the circumstances of their incident with an experienced construction accident attorney who will be able to analyze the facts and explain all of the specific legal options available.”
