An employee of LaGrange Nursing and Rehab Center is accused of sexually assaulting a resident

Patient Reports Sexual Assault by LaGrange Nursing and Rehab Employee

An employee of the LaGrange Nursing and Rehab Center was arrested on Tuesday, August 27 for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient at the facility.

38-year-old Clifton Heflin is charged with one count each of aggravated sodomy, sexual assault, and reckless conduct. Heflin is a certified nursing assistant at the facility.

Officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to a reported sexual assault at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab on August 27. After arriving, the officers spoke with a 59-year-old facility resident who told them that he had been sexually assaulted the night before.

According to detectives, the alleged assault happened between the hours of 7 p.m. on August 26 and 7 a.m. on August 27. It was reported to staff members at around 5 p.m. on the 27th.

The department investigated the allegations and eventually arrested Heflin, who was questioned by detectives. He is currently being held at the Troup County Sheriff’s Department.
