Argument Leads to Stabbing That Injured 2 Men at The Marriott Hotel in La Vista
News On Your Side reports that around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning a fight that led to a stabbing took place in the parking lot of the Marriott Hotel in La Vista located at 12560 Westport Pkwy, La Vista, NE 68128. Apparently, two men were stabbed as a result of the incident.
Authorities claim that some type of altercation in the parking lot led one man to stab the victim. But then the victim allegedly followed the man into the hotel and then stabbed him. No names have been released as of now. Both men were taken to the hospital following the stabbing.
Papillion and La Vista police as well as the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department all got involved in the stabbing early Sunday morning.

Legal Options For Victims of Hotel Stabbings and Their Families
Are you wondering what legal options you may hold regarding this matter? Attorney contributor Brian Kent of www.crimevictim.Attorney specializes in civil cases dealing with parking lot stabbing victims and their families. Below you will find Mr. Kent’s legal analysis that pertains to parking lot stabbing and victims of violent crime in general:
“First off, it is important to understand that commercial property owners are legally obliged to ensure the safety of all of their employees and customers on site. They must do this by providing adequate security on the premises – which includes things like metal detectors, video surveillance, and parking lot lighting at night. By offering adequate security, they are able to help protect patrons from preventable dangers. But there are times when they simply cannot or choose not to offer adequate security measures and this is when a property owner may become liable for a shooting or stabbing that occurs at or near their place of business. Attorneys often refer to this as property owner negligence, or when a violent crime takes places usually as a result of the lack of precaution taken by the owner. When property owner negligence happens and a victim is injured, he or she may have grounds for a lawsuit against the owner.”
“But the victim’s attorney will need to prove more than just inadequate security. In fact, he or she must show that the crime that occurred on the property was reasonably foreseeable in nature. So, for example, if someone is stabbed in a parking lot and the owner knew that crime was getting worse in the area and deliberately did not improve security, the victim here may be able to file a lawsuit against the owner on the grounds that the crime was reasonably foreseeable. Many cases dealing with violent crime victims are unique and complex, but it is important to remember that a crime victim attorney must prove that both the owner held inadequate security and that the crime was reasonably foreseeable.”
