An Osceola County educator is facing serious legal repercussions after being accused of sharing inappropriate content with a student, according to Fox 35. Yezmar Angeanis Ramos-Figueroa, a 22-year-old Physical Education teacher at Central Point Christian Academy, located at 2031 Simpson Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34744, was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Authorities from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office reported that Ramos-Figueroa is facing felony charges for distributing obscene material and transmitting harmful material to a minor. According to deputies, the teacher allegedly communicated with a 13-year-old student via cellphone, sending both text messages and photographs.
The situation came to light in mid-October when the student’s mother notified law enforcement about the alleged inappropriate behavior. Following her report, Osceola County detectives initiated an investigation, leading to Ramos-Figueroa’s arrest.
During questioning, Ramos-Figueroa reportedly admitted to both texting and sending an image to the minor. Following the arrest, she was booked into the Osceola County Jail, where she awaits further legal proceedings.
This incident raises serious concerns within the educational community, prompting discussions around the safeguards in place to protect students. Authorities continue to urge vigilance among parents and guardians.

In the aftermath of disturbing allegations against an Osceola County PE teacher, the legal landscape for victims of school sexual abuse comes into sharp focus. To better understand the avenues available to those affected by such situations, we spoke with experienced Florida sexual abuse lawyer Michael Haggard. He shares his perspective on potential legal actions and the support mechanisms that can help victims and their families in their time of need.
Editor Darla Medina: What legal actions can victims take if they experience abuse from someone in a position of trust, such as a teacher?
Attorney Michael Haggard: Victims have several options. They can pursue civil actions against the perpetrator and potentially the school district, depending on the circumstances. If there’s evidence of negligence in hiring or supervision, that can also strengthen the case.
Medina: What should victims and their families consider if they decide to take legal action?
Haggard: It's important to gather all available evidence and seek guidance from a qualified attorney who specializes in such cases. Emotional support and counseling for the victim are also vital during this process, as these situations can be incredibly traumatic.
