When Can A Family Sue After A Fatal Truck Accident?

Laurence Banville of Banville Law is an attorney contributor who has commented on the legal rights of a family after a fatal accident has occurred.

"When negligence claims the life of a loved one who would have otherwise had a bright future, it's normal to want to fight for justice on their behalf.  A truck accident lawsuit can not only ensure that a family feels that justice has been served, it can also provide full compensation for monetary and non-monetary losses such as:

  • physical suffering
  • emotional trauma
  • loss of income
  • loss of companionship
  • medical expenses
  • funeral and burial expenses

The parents, children, and spouse of the deceased are typically those who are eligible to file a truck accident lawsuit, however, in some cases, others who were dependant on the deceased can also be eligible.

Don't wait to contact an attorney who has experience handling truck accident claims. These civil lawsuits are completely separate from any criminal charges and action should be taken quickly."
