Drunk Driving Accident Liability Laws In Alabama
Here is some more information on the legal rights of drunk driving accident victims in Alabama from Brian Kent of CrimeVictim.Attorney:
When an innocent victim gets injured or killed by a drunk driver, the victim (or their family) may have legal recourse by filing a lawsuit. In Alabama, victims have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the driver, and in some cases, victims can file dram shop lawsuits against businesses or social hosts who provided alcohol to the drunk driver in an illegal manner. Alabama state law prohibits selling or providing alcohol to someone who is already visibly intoxicated. This applies both to alcohol-vending businesses like bars and nightclubs, along with party hosts who continue to serve visibly drunk guests. Additionally, individuals who provide alcohol to people under age 21 can be held liable if that person drinks underage and later causes a car accident.
Determining your eligibility for a drunk driving lawsuit will require a careful review of your case by an experienced drunk driver victims lawyer.
