NC Hookah Lounge Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 4 Injured

According to ABC 7, a tragic incident occurred in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Sunday night, April 2, 2023, when a shooting outside of the V Luxx Hookah Lounge left one person dead and four others injured. V Luxx Hookah Lounge is located at 5044 Yadkin Rd Ste 102, Fayetteville, NC 28303.

At around 10:55 p.m., the Fayetteville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the V Luxx Hookah Lounge. Upon arriving, they found one male victim dead at the scene and four other victims with varying degrees of injuries. One of the four hospitalized was said to be in critical condition, while the other three victims sustained only minor injuries.

According to police, preliminary information suggests that the fight began inside the hookah lounge and then escalated to a shooting in the parking lot. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet.

The Fayetteville Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the department. The department is also asking any witnesses to the tragedy to come forward and speak to the police.

Justice For Victims of Hookah Lounge Shootings

Attorney contributor Kristen Beightol is an experienced shooting victims attorney in North Carolina. She recently discussed the legal rights available for victims of hookah lounge shootings.

"The duty of a hookah lounge to provide security and prevent the risk of shootings in and around their property is one that must be taken seriously. Hookah lounges must make sure they are taking adequate steps to prevent shootings, such as having adequate lighting, security cameras, and security personnel present. Further, they must be aware of any foreseeable risks of violence, such as gang activity, and take steps to prevent them. If the hookah lounge owner is found to have neglected its legal obligation, they could be held liable in a civil lawsuit."

"Legal rights are available for those who have been shot, injured, or killed in a hookah lounge parking lot. Victims of gun violence have the right to seek compensation through a personal injury lawsuit for medical costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages. Further, the family members of victims of fatal shootings have the right to seek compensation through a wrongful death lawsuit for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and other damages."

"No amount of money can ever replace a loved one or make up for the physical and emotional pain of being shot and injured. But it is important to remember that victims of gun violence and their families have legal rights and can seek compensation for their losses. An experienced shooting victims attorney can guide victims and their families to get the justice they deserve."
