30-Foot Flames Shock Bystanders At Draper Gas Station

Emergency officials rushed to a gas station near 14800 South and Minute Man Drive after receiving calls about a fire. They disovered that a semi-truck began fueling at around 7:30 a.m., during which it began to roll across the parking lot. It struck a pickup truck and then a car, forcing both into the gas pump. A spark from the collision caused a fire that spread instantly thanks to the gasoline and flames shot 30 feet up into the sky.

The fire was quickly placed under control thanks to nearby witnesses who hit the emergency fuel shut off.

Two people were seriously burned, however, and were rushed to the hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was questioned and police checked over the truck to try and determine what caused the vehcile to start moving. An investigation is ongoing.

Attorney Contributor Notes The Truck Accident Victims Can Often Take Legal Action

Attorney contributor Laurence Banville of Banville Law has provided this thoughts on the legal rights of truck accident victims after being hurt in a crash.

"Serious injuries can literally derail a life. Careers may end, constant pain can last a lifetime, and financial devestation may result because of necessary medical treatments. It's nice to believe that auto insurance will cover every single cost associated with recovering from an accident but insurance companies are much more focused on saving money than helping people. Adjusters are actually trained to find ways to reduce the amount of money paid out.

Even with amazing health insurance the cost of medical care for an injury such as a burn can be extrodinary, reaching hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. This is why the law allows the victims of an accident to seek compensation for those expenses through a truck accident lawsuit. A lawsuit is filed against the negligent party and if the plaintiff obtains a sucessful verdict or settlement they could be fully compensated for all of their losses.

Truck accident lawsuits need to be filed in a timely manner which is why contacting an experienced legal team immediately is highly important."
