Who Can Be Held Liable After A Dump Truck Accident?

Attorney contributor Kristen Beightol is an experienced commercial truck accident lawyer in North Carolina. Kristen often represents injured victims or their surviving families in lawsuits against negligent trucking companies. During a recent conversation, she addressed who could be held liable in a dump truck accident.

"There are too many factors that can differentiate a commercial truck accident from a typical car accident. The nature of the accidents is one, but the size of the commercial trucks is much heavier than other vehicles. Therefore, truck accidents are more likely to result in severe or fatal injuries. When a commercial truck collides with another vehicle, it is important to determine the cause of the accident. Too often, the cause may be more than just the driver. A third party, such as the truck manufacturer or the dump truck company, could be held responsible for damages caused by the collision. Many variables can contribute to trucking accidents, including driver error, faulty mechanics, and poor vehicle maintenance."

"By retaining an experienced commercial truck accident lawyer, victims and their families can make sure they get the justice and compensation they deserve following a truck collision. Their legal representative will conduct a thorough examination to identify all parties that can be held responsible for the accident."
