What Are The Legal Options For People Injured In Drunk Driving Accidents?
Brian Kent of CrimeVictim.Attorney has some thoughts on the legal rights of drunk driving accident victims:
Drunk driving is an extremely negligent act, as drunk drivers have little control of their driving and are at a much higher risk of causing an accident. These facts are well-known, but people still choose to drive drunk every day across the country. When someone gets injured by a drunk driver, they may have grounds for a personal injury lawsuit against both the drunk driver and in some cases, the alcohol vendor who continued to serve them alcohol. Wisconsin has dram shop laws which allow bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and other alcohol-serving establishments to be held liable if they continue to serve a customer after that customer has become “visibly intoxicated.”
